WPR e-jawn for POPE week!

Some words from the management

We are pretty proud to boast that we run in any kind of weather and that definitely includes running during hurricane (Pope) Francis this week. We'll repent for our awful jokes and cleanse our soles at Bishop's Collar (24th and Fairmount) after the run on Wednesday and then join up with Fishtown Beer Runners for their run to P.O.P.E. in South Philly on Thursday.

Upcoming événements du sport

WPR and Philadelphia Runner Bishop's Collar run - Wednesday September 23rd

Hey, have you heard? Pope Francis is coming to town. In honor of his holiness, we're running to the Bishop's Collar in Fairmount with Philadelphia Runner. I know this is a big departure from our usual routine of staying in West Philly, but it's a special occasion, so I hope you'll join us!

Fishtown Beer Runners/WPR POPE Run - Thursday September 24th

Fishtown Beer Runners was one step ahead of us on this idea so we're hopping on their bandwagon and joining them for a run to the POPE. For the truly stout of heart, there will be a run to Fishtown to their start point, while others are welcome to either travel some other way or just run directly to the POPE. All that matters is that we all celebrate POPE weekend together.

Fall Trail Series - Each Thursday in September

Run in one or more of the FREE informal trail races (organized by the Wissahickon Wanderers) on Thursday evenings in September: Sep 3, 10, 17, 24 starting at 6:30 from Valley Green Inn
The distances range generally from three to five miles through the woods of the Wissahickon and along Forbidden Drive. The trail series races are FREE and open to absolutely everyone. The 2015 Course Layouts will be managed by various Wanderers.

The Rescue Run 5K - Saturday October 3rd

The Rescue Run 5K  is Philly’s first race to benefit and promote rescue and adoption.  Annually in the Fall, hundreds of runners gather at the Navy Yard to race in honor of the dogs we love so much.  Numerous rescue groups and shelters attend the Rescue Rally following the race.  Racers, spectators, family and friends are able to meet furry friends for adoption and get more information about volunteering with local animal shelters.  Proceeds go to continuing the mission of The Monster Milers, Philly’s shelter dog running and rescue, 501c3 non-profit volunteer group.  You in?  Register today.
