Our forefathers fought for independence so that we may have the freedom to run and imbibe. I'm not sure that that was their greatest concern, but it's worked out for us. Wednesday evening we will head out into the heat once again to trek across Philly. Our air conditioned oasis awaits us at Fiume upon our return.
I encourage you to learn some patriotic songs that you can sing during the run in case you find yourself overcome by feelings of American pride. Also, feel free to come early to the run and have a pre-run drink at Fiume - it is your right as an American. Either way, make sure you are hydrated since it will be pretty toasty out.
