WPR e-jawn: November 9th

Some Words from the Management

We're a running group and not a political one, however, we do not exist in some kind of vacuum. I know many of you, like me, are disappointed (put very mildly) with the outcomes of yesterday's election. For years, we've all used running as a way to work through challenges, clear our minds, and find a way forward. As many have already recognized, this group has never been deterred by what nature has thrown at us, and we won't be deterred by the storm that's on the horizon now.

Our longest run this week will circle Girard College to remember the protests of the 1960s to desegregate that school. Nice to have a reminder that we can all work together to make change happen.
"Cecil B. Moore and the Philadelphia Freedom Fighters marched around the wall encompassing the campus for seven months in 1965. A highlight of these protests came on August 2 of that year when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. came to the front gates of Girard's campus and addressed the protesters." - Wikipedia
