WPR e-Jawn for September 2nd

Some words from the management

Thanks to everyone that came out for the run/party last week. It was a blast and I'm looking forward to another 250 runs with you all. With an eye towards the future, there are a bunch of events down below and routes for tonight's run, of course.

Upcoming événements du sport

Fall Trail Series - Each Thursday in September

Run in one or more of the FREE informal trail races (organized by the Wissahickon Wanderers) on Thursday evenings in September: Sep 3, 10, 17, 24 starting at 6:30 from Valley Green Inn
The distances range generally from three to five miles through the woods of the Wissahickon and along Forbidden Drive. The trail series races are FREE and open to absolutely everyone. The 2015 Course Layouts will be managed by various Wanderers.

Boxer's Trail 5K - Saturday September 12th

On September 12, 2015, walk or run the scenic cliff paths of the Boxers’ Trail in East Fairmount Park where heavyweight boxing champion Joe Frazier trained.
Proceeds from the Boxers’ Trail 5K benefit East Fairmount Park and Mander Recreation Center, which organizes youth programs, including runs along the Boxers’ Trail.
Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and the race begins at 9:30 a.m.

Fishtown Beer Runners/WPR POPE Run - Thursday September 24th

Fishtown Beer Runners was one step ahead of us on this idea so we're hopping on their bandwagon and joining them for a run to the POPE. For the truly stout of heart, there will be a run to Fishtown to their start point, while others are welcome to either travel some other way or just run directly to the POPE. All that matters is that we all celebrate POPE weekend together.

The Rescue Run 5K - Saturday October 3rd

The Rescue Run 5K  is Philly’s first race to benefit and promote rescue and adoption.  Annually in the Fall, hundreds of runners gather at the Navy Yard to race in honor of the dogs we love so much.  Numerous rescue groups and shelters attend the Rescue Rally following the race.  Racers, spectators, family and friends are able to meet furry friends for adoption and get more information about volunteering with local animal shelters.  Proceeds go to continuing the mission of The Monster Milers, Philly’s shelter dog running and rescue, 501c3 non-profit volunteer group.  You in?  Register today.

This week's routes to Pasqually's
