The Boston Marathon on Monday was a great reminder of what this sport is really about. Sure, we're not about to go run 5 minute splits, but we push ourselves to our own limits and find our own glory.
The man, the fricken legend, Chris McDougal is in town to promote his recent novel about superpeople of sorts (Natural Born Heroes). Best part, he's teamed up with our friends over at RUN215 to do a free run through West Philly with start and end at the Penn Museum. Best part? It works out perfectly so we can go right to the Penn Relays (see below) afterwards!
We're going to get a group together to check out the Penn Relays. They are free on the opening night and there are some really great events including College Women's 4x400 and the College and Olympic Development Steeplechase! http://news.pennrelaysonline.com/2015-tentative-schedule/
Between the costume contest, beer tent, and the awesome course through Fairmount Park, this is (in my humble opinion) the best half-marathon in Philly. Register under our team when it asks how you found out. If we get a group of 10 together, we'll have our own party tent that we will stock with beer and a blowup monkey doll. The race is likely to sell out (it's small - only 4000 runners) so register soon.
