The West Philly Runners Community: September 26th Run Update

Some Words from our Sponsors

We don't actually have any sponsors, but EMS has been kind enough to sell West Philly Runners shirts at their 34th and Chestnut store, because they believe in our message of strengthening our community. On that same note, this weekend the Green Block Build is coming back to Mantua to "improve the health and wealth of low-income households, block-by-block, house-by-house." Let's get a good WPR presence at this event to show that we are a group that really cares about our community.

Upcoming Events

Green Block Build. Saturday September 29. This is a great opportunity to make West Philly even more wonderful. Jane brought the event to my attention saying, "It is a really well organized work day that lasts about 6 or 7 hours and includes food and tools. You can just show up in grubby clothes and help with gardening, building, cleaning and  whatever. I think it is a great organization and it is great exercise and entertainment for the day."

Ragnar Relay PA. October 5-6. We are still looking for one runner for our Ragnar team! We have had some last minute injuries and need some fresh blood to join our team of pure awesomeness. Give me a shout if you're interested in joining us and I'll fill you in on the details!

Running for Answers WPR Team. Sunday October 21. I would love to put together a team to face off against the other local clubs that are participating. (Fishtown Beer Runners are already registered). Our team is 'West Philly Runners', naturally.
  • Use discount code as65 for a $10 discount when you register for the team.
  • We need a team of at least 3 men and 2 women to officially compete!
  • Let's hand it to the Fishtown Beer Runners!

Wissahickon Wanderers Fall Trail Series Thursday September 27th starting at the Valley Green Inn at 6:30pm! This is the last race for the Fall Series so be sure to check it out! We had great turnouts at each of the Spring runs and anyone who ran will tell you that they were amazing, stupidly challenging, and free!
