WPR 26x1 on Saturday (and info on the week's runs)

At long last, the 26 x 1 Mile Relay Challenge is coming up this Saturday at 10am. We are going to have 3 or 4 teams vying for gold in a relatively friendly (we're going to stomp FBR) competition. The race is taking place at the Horticultural Center and will be followed by (or accompanied by) a BBQ and beers. If you can't make the race, feel free to come out and join us afterwards. If you are planning on coming out and feel so inclined, it would be greatly appreciated if you could bring some beer or foods.
This is the race course and the meeting spot. Clicking on the picture will take you to the google map, which should give you a better sense of where this spot is if you haven't been here before.

Coming up:

Philadelphia Runner Olympics Watching Party. August 5th. Free food and drinks and a chance to win Puma running shoes. Check it out and sign up, it's sure to be a blast.

Fishtown Beer Runners Olympics Beer Run to International House. August 9th @ 7:45pm. This event is in our back yards at the International House so I expect a great WPR showing! Fantastic event description from the folks at International House:
Keep a stiff upper lip and join us at International House Philadelphia on Thursday August 9th when we will be hosting the Fishtown Beer Runners and the West Philly Runners for an Olympian themed Cool Brittania celebration. Kick up your heels to British Invasion tunes, chow down on a traditional Ploughman’s spread, and check out the Olympic Games on the big screen. Don’t miss your chance to raise your pints for a multi-lingual toast to the Spanish Professor who started it all! Enjoy Philadelphia Brewing Company beer, contests, and wicked prizes that will be awarded to the runners wearing the best costumes in keeping with the evening: think Union Jacks, Queuing, and Complaining about the Weather!
Wristbands for beer will be a mere $10 (available at the door), but please be polite like a proper English gentleman and RSVP via TicketFly prior to the event. Feel free to come along even if you can’t make the run. We’ll be looking awkward on the dance floor in true Brit style until around 10pm. Ticketfly RSVP listing shows the event as $0, admission to the event is free but there will charge $10 at the door for beer wristbands.
Anything else coming up that I should mention in next week's email? Let me know.
