Born to Run

Chris McDougall, author of Born to Run, is giving a talk at Penn tomorrow (Wednesday) about the RarĂ¡muri, the isolated tribe of running people located in the remote Sierra Madre mountains of Mexico. His talk is coinciding with a photo exhibit of the very same people, bringing the seemingly fictional characters to life. The only problem is that the talk is at 6pm and kinda conflicts with West Philly Runners. I still wanted to make sure you all knew about his talk. The photo exhibit is open through September.

Other upcoming events:

Saturday, April 14.Club Day at EMS. I'm going to be representing WPR at the club day, which also features a 20% discount. Stop by and if you are up for helping man the table for a bit, PLEASE let me know! Event is 11am - 6pm.

Sunday, April 15. Volunteer @ Cobbs Creek Park. Same deal, cleaning up the park and making it beautiful. This time on Sunday morning instead of Saturday. We'll be there from roughly 10 - 12:30. Call or text me if you are coming out: 267-324-9948.

Saturday, April 21. Cobbs Creek 5K. We're almost there with less than 2 weeks to go. We had a nice preview of the race through Bike to Run on Saturday and it is a challenging 5K road/trail run. And of course, don't forget that it is the West Philly Runners run. Registration is a very affordable $20 and goes to benefit kids' recreational activities in the Cobbs Creek Park.

This week's routes (ending up at City Tap House)...
