Running on the Side

I recently have had better perspective of how amazing you all are who come out running week after week. Most of you know that until recently I'd only been working part-time and even that was not that taxing. And even now my job is close to home and enjoyable, but the new schedule just makes all post-work activities much more challenging to squeeze in. It isn't that I'm ignorant of the work-life balance we all strive for. Only, I wanted to tell you that you all rock pretty goddamn hard. Come dressed up to this week's run and I promise you as many high fives as you want!

Really fun events coming up!

This Saturday (think Halloween now) we are gathering at a WPR's house (location tbd). We shall all be dressed quite impressively in our Halloween couture, running shoes strapped afoot. Mingling is encouraged, perhaps a drink or two. Then we will run to another WPR's house and commence more mingling and imbibing. Finally we will run or stumble to my house (Wiota St and Powelton Ave) and enjoy good music and drinks, all while looking stunning. I would love to see you all there. Clearly drinking is, as always, completely optional. Consider it a way to run through West Philly in costume where the chance of getting hit by an egg are statistically diminished by the sheer numbers.

If you are in the area on Thanksgiving weekend, Pretzel City Sports is having their annual "Dirty Bird" 15K Trail Run on Sunday November 27th. These guys put on some challenging and super fun runs through the woods in Reading, PA.

Next Wednesday is WPR's 1st Anniversary! I am so overjoyed that I haven't planned a damn thing yet. Have any thoughts? Let me know! I'm thinking of doing a post-run bash at my house.

The routes... (heading out East on Locust)
