WPR weekly deets: December 13

Some Words from the Management

Anyone who has ever heard me talk about how West Philly Runners got its start has heard that I got the inspiration from the Fishtown Beer Runners and their founder, David April. It's easy to see how David's work creating a welcoming club in Fishtown has spread to the current running community in Philadelphia. Today, dozens of neighborhood and affinity groups make up a unified and vibrant scene that brings so much love and support for fellow runners from big group events like the Mayor's Cup and 26x1 to huge cheer squads during marathon weekend.

David passed away this past weekend after a long fight with cancer, but his legacy will live on with the community he helped build. I hope you'll join us tonight as we raise a glass to David's memory.

Run starts at Clark Park (44th and Baltimore) and ends at Local 44 Bottle Shop (44th and Spruce).
