All right folks, we've had an incredible run of nice weather on Wednesday nights but it looks like that ends tonight. No worries, we'll still be meeting for our weekly run.
You may be wondering how to dress for a run in the rain. The answer is you're probably going to get pretty darn wet no matter what you wear. Waterproof gear is nice but you'll likely end up sweating through your other layers while wearing it. Avoid cotton since it sticks to your skin and saps your heat. If you have a running pack, consider bringing some dry clothes in a waterproof bag to change into.
You may also be wondering why the hell you'd bother running in the rain. The answer is that once you give into the fact that you're going to get wet, it's extremely liberating and, dare I say, fun.
All runs start at Clark Park (44th and Baltimore) and end at Local 44 Bottle Shop (44th and Spruce).
Marathons are hard. You know what's easier? Running a marathon on a team of 13 runners where you each run a single mile, take a nice relaxing beer break, and then go run one more for good measure.
This year will be the 8th Annual 26 x 1 Mile Marathon Relay and it's back on our home turf, at The Woodlands. We had two teams last time around, including the winning team, not that anyone's keeping track of these things.
Sign up today and let's get another two teams together for the best race of the year!
Runs end at Local 44 Bottle Shop (44th and Spruce)
