I'm so impressed at the awesome running (and personal and professional) things that West Philly Runners accomplish. This past weekend, we had a crew run the Laurel Highlands Team Relay, running 70 miles through the literal mountains including in the middle of the night.
Whether you're scrambling over boulders at midnight or simply managing to get out for a run while balancing all the other things life throws at you, you've got our respect!
This week's run ends at the Local 44 Bottle Shop!!
Join the Mayor's Cup organizers for a preview of the MC 5k course, followed by a happy hour with Parks on Tap. Proceeds from happy hour will benefit the Belmont Plateau Trails Alliance, the stewards of their trail system that we love so much.
The event is open to the general public and all are welcome. Please check the Parks on Tap website for additional details.
5k run starts at 6:30, happy hour starts at 7. Can't make the run? Stop by for a beer and help our friends at BPTA!
Woodlands Happy Hour - Wednesday July 11, 7pm
Join us for a brew or two at the Hamilton Mansion after the WPR run for the June Runner Happy Hours and help celebrate our community of runners. A selection of craft beers has been generously provided by Yards Brewing Co.
This month's event will have an added bonus event. Esther from P.E.T. Core Fitness will be leading a body weight workout at the Woodlands following the 2 mile run. The workout will be around 30 minutes and is free!
The Runner's Happy Hour is FREE for members $10 suggested donation for non-members Not sure if you're a member? Email Emma at email@example.com
Runners from each and every Philadelphia community - fast runners and slow runners, trail runners and road runners, ultra-runners and 5K specialists, competitors and volunteers - coming together to represent the "team" they call their own.
5 Events, held on a single day, with a single start/finish line. Clubs from all over the city, coming together for competition and socialization.
There are no individual winners. The top male and female from each club, in each race, will earn points (based on ranking) for their club. The winning club will be the Mayor's Cup Champion.
The WPR team password is "SimplePleasures" which makes me deeply uncomfortable for some reason.
