WPR e-jawn: February 15th

Some Words from the Management

Thank you to all who came out last week and drank some delicious beer for a good cause. This week we are embarking on yet another odyssey for a cause of uncertain merit. Pasqually's now sells wine! Rejoice!

Upcoming Events

The Triple-Dam Trail Run - 10K - Saturday February 18th

Thanks to Sarah for recommending what looks like a BEAST of a race. Check this out: "The 10k course is an out and back with a 1.3 mile “lollipop” loop about 2.6 miles from the start. The course will lead you along a dam across the Perkiomen Creek, run over the dam of Deep Creek and pass by the larger dam of the Perkiomen Creek along “THE HILL.” The beginning and end of the course includes some paved road, black-top path, and approximately 4 miles of trail running, some along the frigid waters of Green Lane Park. There is a total 1100’ of elevation change over the race. Most of the gain/loss is up and down one not-so-small hill. There will be two water stations along the course."

Frostbite 5 Miler - Saturday February 18th

The 18th Annual Frostbite 5-Miler, sponsored by the Ambler Area Running Club, is mostly flat, with gently rolling hills. The most renowned February race in the area! (Okay, the only one.) certified 5 Miles.

Proceeds benefit three great charities: Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association, Dan's Voice, and Aid For Friends. Race will be held regardless of rain, sleet, snow or hail unless the safety of runners is in jeopardy. Registration will be absolutely limited to 1500 runners to prevent overcrowding in the HS and should sell out early.

Leprechaun Run - Saturday, March 11

All proceeds of the Leprechaun Run benefit Special Olympics Pennsylvania athletes in Philadelphia. Events like the Leprechaun Run are an integral source of funding for our program that serves nearly 2,000 athletes and for the thousands of potential lives that our programming could touch!

Back on My Feet 5 Miler - Saturday March 25

The Stroehmann Bakeries Back on My Feet 5-Miler is a race to get you prepared for your best Blue Cross Broad Street Run finish yet! If you are an experienced runner, looking to run your first race ever, or would like to improve on your running, set your calendar for Saturday, March 25th at 8:00 AM. Back on My Feet is committed to building a stronger and healthier community. The Stroehmann Bakeries Back on My Feet 5-Miler helps to provide support to our services to improve the self-sufficiency of those experiencing homelessness. All proceeds from the race will benefit the local BoMF Philadelphia Chapter.

Bookin for Lookin - Sunday, April 9th, 2017

This charity race event supports an important cause: to raise awareness and funds to help cure blindness! We are supporting two fantastic organizations: Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB) and Bucks County Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (BCABVI).
Join us and choose your challenge: 8 Miler, 5K, or Kids 1 Mile Fun Run. The 8 Miler features a beautiful, scenic course through Tyler State Park—it will simply take your breath away.

Lenape Survival Challenge - Sunday April 22nd

Early bird registration is open for one of my favorite races and all around fun time. The Lenape Survival Challenge is a 2-person race and getting together three 2-person teams means we could compete for the Tribe challenge, which we won in 2015! It's a 4.5 mile run followed by canoeing with your partner.

Runs end at Pasqually's
43rd and Walnut
