Bike to Run & Race Registrations

Wouldn't it be great to do some trail running together? We're in luck, Philly has a bunch of parks with trails - Cobbs Creek, Fairmount Park, Wissahickon, and Pennypack to name a few. But who really wants to drive somewhere to go running? I certainly don't. That's why I decided to start a bike to run monthly event. We're partnering with EMS, which is going to be our home base for this Saturday morning event and will be offering club discounts at the store! Our first bike to run event will be on Saturday, February 4th at 10am. Come out with your bike for a short ride into Fairmount Park and a run through some local trails.

If Springtime feels like a vanishing point in the distance, it might come as a big surprise that registration is either already open or coming up for some big Spring races. It's a nice thing to keep in mind as you squeeze into tights for a run in the blistering cold.

ODDyssey Half Marathon
Race Date: May 26
Registration Opening Date: Already Open. Price break ends 2/1!
Notes: When you register, on the 2nd screen there is a question "How did you hear about the ODDyssey Half Marathon?" Select "Ambassador" and then select Alon Abramson from the field that shows up. If we get 20 people registered under my name we'll get a post-run tent where we can drink and make merry.

Broad Street Run
Race Date: May 6
Registration Opening Date: February 15
Notes: I'm letting you all know about this registration opening 3 weeks in advance, because the race sold out in 4 days last year and probably will sell out even faster this year. So mark your calendars! I want to have a HUGE WPR contingent at BSR. If we get a big group, I'm going to set up a post-race beer table for us with the other local running clubs. It was a ton of fun last year.

Cobbs Creek 5K
Race Date: April 21
Registration Opening Date: TBD.
Notes: This race is near and dear to my heart. If there was an official WPR race, this would be it. I expect to have a great group running this race this year. We will also have some great opportunities to help out with working on the train, which was really badly damaged by the big storms we had last year.

Cupid's Chase 5K
Race Date: February 11
Registration Opening Date: Already Open. It is $50 on race day so definitely pre-register!
Notes: A romantic (?) race option. This race is wildly overpriced, but for a good cause, so I'll let it slide. They are actually looking for volunteers for race day. Let me know if you're interested.
