We have great news this week. Our awesome runner, Paul, who was side-lined by a broken knee has finally been cleared to run, after 4 months! This week he'll be joining us for the 2 miler. Paul has graciously invited us to congregate at his place for a post-run BBQ and some drinks. He lives on 43rd between Pine and Spruce (I'll give the actual address at the run). I routed the runs this week to end at 43rd and Pine so keep that in mind.
As you know, at West Philly Runners, we constantly strive to be at the forefront of fashion. That's why we'll be making custom West Philly Runners shirts at the BBQ. I recommend bringing a shirt to spray paint. If you don't have a shirt, I have tank-tops that you can purchase for a few bucks. We'll have stencils and spray paint at the ready.
In other news, we're looking for one more runner to join the West Philly Runners RAGNAR Pennsylvania relay team in October. This is a 24-hour run where our 12-person team will run from the City of Lancaster to Mt. Pocono, 200 miles total! The race takes place on October 7-8. We'll be camping out the night before, October 6th, and staying up in Mt Pocono on Saturday night, October 8th, after the run. It's going to be a great time. Let me know if you are interested and I can fill you in on more particulars.
